Lite-Ride

SOLD

This spring-mounted child's riding horse was found abandoned in the "free" pile at a local garage sale in 2006. Somewhere within him, I felt life still stirring, so I hefted him up, brought him to my studio, freed him from his springs, and mounted him on an antique brass floor lamp. Thus we began our ride down the pathways of my art room. To my sheer delight, my horse found strength and beauty with each step we took together, and beneath my fingers, he slowly but surely recovered his glorious spirit.

He is done in iridescent glass, hand painted ceramic tile, cracked marbles and antique jewelry. This horse is my first large scale 3-D mosaic. He stands 6 1/2' tall, and is 2 3/4' wide.

Enjoy the ride!
